General Ernest Abercrombie is a supporting character and the commander of Area-86, Retroville's military installation. His military insignia gives him a rank of a Lieutenant General.

History[]

In the movie, he sends out a group of planes to hunt down and investigate the thing if it's a UFO. But its revealed to be Jimmy, Carl, and Goddard much to the shock of the pilots.

In the series, he had a major role in episode The N-Men, taking the N-Men except Jimmy to area-86. He then was seen leading the army against Hulk Jimmy (just like Gen. Ross leading the army against the Hulk) after seeing that Jimmy is too strong for them he let the N-Men handle Jimmy. He admired their bravery but said to the army if they get lucky the N-Men and Jimmy will destroy each other.

In Substitute Creature, we learn that he was a pupil of Winifred Fowl, who reminded him that he's still delinquent for a homework assignment by 28 years.

Trivia[]

  • His lack of military tactics and/or professionalism could be an ode to General James Abercrombie, who was a British Army general and commander-in-chief of forces in North America during the French and Indian War, best known for the disastrous British losses in the 1758 Battle of Carillon.
  • He and Mayor Quador were both voiced by Mark DeCarlo and Jim Cummings.
  • Despite being a general, it is unknown why he can fly a fighter jet without a flight suit, as it is known that pilots from the air force or the navy must wear pressurized flight suits to survive in combat.
    • It's implied he was once an air force pilot before becoming a general.
    • This plot hole is also similar to the fact that Jimmy Neutron and the rest of the characters can breathe in space, whereas in real life, astronauts or spacemen must wear special oxygen helmets and suits to survive.
