Nanobots

The Nanobots are two small robots created by Jimmy who were briefly programmed to be his bodyguards against a bully. The Orange Nanobot is the self-proclaimed captain while the Red Nanobot is the "stewardess". They appear in three episodes in The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

Physical Appearance[]

The Nanobots were initially one-eyed in the episode "Safety First". Until "Return of the Nanobots", the Nanobots were upgraded with two eyes as opposed to one. Also, they both have four finger on each hands.

N-1 has a wide orange head, a stubby torso, his body color is primarily orange while N-2 has a ovular hot pink head, a slim torso and his body color is primarily pink.

History[]

The Nanobots first appeared in "Safety First" where Jimmy created them to protect himself from Terry who had been beating him up and stealing his lunch lately. They successfully drive Terry away from him but start to chaotically take nearly every gesture to Jimmy as a physical threat, terrorizing his friends. Jimmy confused them by beating himself up causing them to overload from confusion and explode thus, defeating them. Afterward, they parachute down into a hole Goddard digs and are buried.

The nanobots make their second appearance in "Return of the Nanobots" where Jimmy reprograms them to have them check for errors in his non-science homework. Unfortunately, they insanely mess it up thus, proving their behavior to still be too chaotic so Jimmy puts them back in the lockdown. Unsatisfied, the Nanobots escape and follow Jimmy to school and start correcting everything they perceive to be an error, such as Ms. Fowl's hair, the lunch lady's cooking, the school's design, and Cindy and Libby's fashion sense thus, proving their behavior to be even more chaotic than last time. Thinking it would work a second time, Jimmy tells them that humans are meant to have flaws with the intent of confusing them to cause an explosion overload. However, this makes them think humans are an extreme error and they start deleting everyone in the world. Their trash bin soon becomes full and when Jimmy hears this, he thinks of what to do to stop them from permanently deleting everyone from their trash bin and his father saying ”endless pie endless pie” gives him a brain blast. Jimmy then tells them to wait on dumping their trash bin and has them check his poem one last time which tricks them into correcting the value of pi (π), an endless number impossible for any computer to calculate which causes them to explode from overload. Thus, defeating them once again and saving everyone on Earth as they all reappear after the module is destroyed.

The nanobots make their final appearance in Fundemonium. Following the events of the previous episode, Jimmy has officially lost trust in them and has them locked up in chairs. They continuously try to please Jimmy and beg him to let them do something, but he refuses to give them another chance. Later, Hugh makes the mistake of using the Nanobots as batteries for his Malibu Death Machine toy, and thinking it was a form of gratitude to Hugh, make it bigger and badder and thus, cause a massive rampage in Retroville. Jimmy uses the circuitry from one of his dad's previous toys to shut down the Death Machine and defeat the Nanobots one final time.

Nanobot 2: Yes, all we'll need is a global positioning unit, some plutonium, and a lifetime supply of cheddar chips! ... What, I like cheddar chips.
Nanobot 1: The father has been located! I'll go mad if I have to stay here!
Nanobot 2: At least we have each other.

Trivia[]

The orange nanobot is named N-1 and the red nanobot is named N-2. In their second appearance, they are upgraded to N-1v2 and N-2v2.
They want to please Jimmy, their master, but they consistently misunderstand his commands.
They bicker with each other constantly.
They are not so much villainous as they are misguided. Everything they do is simply to get their creator to want them back. Even so, Jimmy seems to consider them psychos and does not trust them at all, as it was shown in Fundemonium that he had them locked up in a manner similar to Hannibal Lector. Why Jimmy didn't just destroy them or deactivate them is never revealed.
It is unknown why they are not part of The League of Villains (group), although it could be because they're not quite villainous.
They are robotic parodies of Pinky and the Brain from Animaniacs franchise.
The masks and chairs the Nanobots are tied to in their third appearance are a visual reference to Silence of the Lambs.
