"Party at Neutron's" is the first segment of the 13th episode in season one of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
Plot[]
Jimmy is doing maintenance on his time accelerator when he is told that he is going to be left home for the night while his mom and dad go out to a stage performance called see Ducks: the Musical. They make Jimmy promise that he won't invite anyone over or do any experimenting while they're gone, making him sign a contract to make sure he complies. After he finishes his maintenance, he hears the doorbell ring. Sheen and Carl are at Jimmy's front door and upon noticing his parents' absence, they suggest he hold a party, which Jimmy is at first opposed to out of honor for his parents and their contract. He promised not to hold a party, do any experiments, or space missions. However, after pointing out that Betty Quinlan would be likely to come, and Jimmy then realizes his parents didn't say anything about someone else inviting someone over so he agrees. Sheen and Carl invite basically every kid from school for the party, especially Nick. Cindy and Libby also come to the party (she says that they came to make catty observations and rude remarks, and there was also nothing good on TV).
The disaster begins when Nick becomes bored with the party and when Nick tries to leave and everyone else leaves. Sheen, in desperation, blocks the door and tells them all to come to Jimmy's room where he has all sorts of cool stuff. They get their hands on the stuff, but this has the negative effect of making the party spiral into insanity. Soon, Nick is flying around the house in Jimmy's jet pack, Cindy shrinks Carl with Jimmy's shrink ray, and Sheen accidentally brings a velociraptor to the party mistaking it for Harry Houdini. Jimmy then explains to Sheen what that raptor really is and Sheen admits to Jimmy that he always somehow gets magicians and dinosaurs mixed up. The velociraptor then turns to Jimmy to attack him so Jimmy hits him with the closet door knocking him unconscious.
Jimmy can't stand it anymore and after trapping the raptor in the closet and restoring Carl to his normal size, he angrily calls the party off and tells everyone to leave. However, he quickly takes this all back as Betty shows up to the party, much to Cindy's chagrin. The party resumes and Jimmy doesn't take much notice that the house is slowly being demolished as he gets to dance with Betty, which makes Cindy even more annoyed. Sheen suggests she might be jealous (which she actually is), but buttons his mouth (literally) when Cindy threatens to button it for him.
Jimmy is brought back to his senses when he gets a phone call from his parents telling him that due to a bad accident with Hugh on stage, they'll be home in five minutes. Jimmy tries to convince everybody to leave, but nobody is willing to leave. Finally, Jimmy comes up with the idea of speeding up time in the house using his time accelerator so the entire party can finish in only fifteen seconds.
The accelerator works and after everybody leaves, it’s a simple manner of cleaning the house, which Jimmy does in a flash with help from Goddard and when his parents arrive, he covers up the party pretty well. However, when Hugh opens the closet to hang his coat up, he gets chased around the house by the raptor.

- (Carl and Sheen holding out two phones. There is a group of phones on the table.)
- Sheen: "Could you keep it down over here, Jimmy? (Speaking into the phones) "Yeah, you heard me! Party at Neutron's! Call everyone you ever met in your entire life and tell them to get over here right now! I had to think."
- Sheen: "This is going to be the greatest night of our lives!!!"
- Carl: (in a monotonous voice) "Or a horrible night of pain and misery..."
- Jimmy: "Carl, what'd you says that for?"
- Carl: "Hey, I callz 'em, as I seez 'em." (Jumps back on a chair and picks up a phone, smiling like nothing happened.)
- Nick: (to Sheen who's blocking the door) "Get out of the way, Shine!"
- Sheen: "Sheen!"
- Cindy: "For once, you did something right."
- Carl: "It was great! Even though I never got a little weenie."
- Betty: "Let me know when you're having another party Jimmy."
- Jimmy: "Will do Betty."
- Hugh: "Say, I'm gonna hang up my jacket and then I'm gonna say more nice things about Jimmy."
- (He makes to put his jacket away in the closet but the raptor reaches out and grabs it.)
- (to Judy) "Uh, sugar booger? How long have we had a raptor in the closet?"
- (The raptor come out of the closet and snarls. Jimmy points at his mother, who glares at him.)
- Hugh: (screams)
- Judy: "James Isaac Neutron!"
- Goddard: (whimpers)
- Jimmy: "I can fix that! I hope..."
- Hugh: (as he's being chased around the house by the raptor) "Bad dinosaur! Bad! Okay, that's it, out of the house! Ow! Ow! I'm glad you're extinct! You're mean! AAAAAAAAH!!!"
- Sheen: "What about games? We could play Spin-the-Bottle..." (pulls a bottle out and spins it towards Libby)
- Libby: "Yeah, or we could play Spin-Sheen-and-hit-him-with-a-bottle!"
- (Jimmy joins the conversation.)
- Jimmy: "Oh, w-w-wait, I've got some cool games: Rock 'em Sock 'em Einstein and, oh, Stephen Hawking's Off-Road Baja Wheelchair Race. I'll be right back." (walks away)
- Carl: "Hey, don't forget the little weenies."
- Jimmy: "Sheen, that's a ferocious, prehistoric velociraptor!"
- Sheen: "Oh, yeah. I always get magicians and dinosaurs mixed up."

Trivia[]
- This episode properly introduces Betty Quinlan. She previously made a cameo in the episode Krunch Time.
- This is also the first episode in the show to officially feature one of Jimmy's three side love-interests, followed by Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion, Out, Darn Spotlight, Foul Bull, Win, Lose and Kaboom!, and One of Us/Vanishing Act.
- This is the only episode where Libby Folfax, Nick Dean and all of Jimmy's class enter Jimmy's house.
- This and Out, Darn Spotlight are the only episodes featuring any of Jimmy's side love-interests to have Nick appear officially and speak.
- Ironically, they both feature Betty Quinlan.
- The dance scene between Jimmy and Betty is a reference to the famous dance scene from the movie Pulp Fiction.
- The music itself is similar to the song "You Can Never Tell" by Chuck Berry which plays in the aforementioned scene. However, this is only in the original airing and reruns. The original version, which uses the song “Go Jimmy Jimmy” by Aaron Carter, had to be changed due to copyright which was seen on The Complete Series DVD. This could also be another reason why this episode is not on digital platforms.
- This the first time Nick calls Sheen "Shine". The second time will be in The Incredible Shrinking Town.
- The song from "Ducks: The Musical" that Hugh sings is sung to the tune of the Jet Song from West Side Story.
- The overture from said show is to the tune of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony.
- Additionally, the name "Ducks: The Musical" is a parody of the Tony award-winning musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
- This episode is not available on any digital platforms due to copyright problems with the song “Go Jimmy Jimmy” by Aaron Carter.
- The episode was available on Paramount+, alongside the rest of the series until March 24, 2021, where this and Ultra Sheen got removed, along with When Pants Attack for the same reason.
- They replaced the music sometime after it premiered so it could be reran without any copyright problems. However, the song is still used in reruns of When Pants Attack.
- The edited version still airs on Nicktoons but, the original version (despite the changed music) is available on the show’s Complete Series DVD.
- It is unknown why the edited version is not used on digital platforms.
- The episode was available on Paramount+, alongside the rest of the series until March 24, 2021, where this and Ultra Sheen got removed, along with When Pants Attack for the same reason.
- The music where the party begins sounds similar to "We Got the Beat" by The Go Go's. The music would later appear in Jimmy Timmy Power Hour and How to Sink a Sub.
- This is one of the few episodes to not end with an atom-shaped iris out; instead, it ended with a regular iris out, and then the dinosaur chasing Hugh.
- In TV airings, despite “Go Jimmy Jimmy” being credited it was replaced by generic techno beat music. This was done to avoid copyright issues.
- The musical group “Men Pretending To Be Boys” it’s a parody of Boyz II Men.
- Before Carl says, "Don't step on me!", three of the kids are seen doing the repetitive dances from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Even the music from the Men Pretending To Be Boys concert played during that shot sounds just like the Peanuts theme song, Linus and Lucy. Such dancing is done again in Broadcast Blues (briefly), and The Eggpire Strikes Back.
- Jimmy and Betty's dance is also seen during the opening credits of Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion.
- This episode is quite similar to Granny Baby, as Jimmy's parents leave to the house to go somewhere and tell Jimmy to not cause trouble, but have to return home early due to Hugh's incident.
- Unlike that episode, Jimmy's parents find out that he disobeyed them at the end.

- When Sheen and Carl were on the phone inviting people to Jimmy's house, you can hear static from a dial-up connection from a receiving line.
- When the Velociraptor first appears and sees Jimmy, the background music is based off of the Velociraptor theme from Jurassic Park.
- When Hugh says he and Judy will return in five minutes, only 17 seconds pass before Jimmy checks his watch. Also, Hugh and Judy return only one minute and thirty seconds after he does such.
- This episode closes with a blackscreen and characters (Hugh and the velociraptor). The next episode to end in a similar fashion is not until Best In Show (57 episodes later) when Principal Willoughby is in front of a blackscreen.
- Although this episode was released in 2003, you can actually see "Copyright 2002 Viacom International, Inc” at the end of the credits. This probably means that this episode was produced in 2002.
