VOX 2000 Scanning Jimmy's hair DNA
VOX is an artificial intelligence, created by Jimmy, that assumes control of the mechanics in his lab on Jimmy's command. She is usually noted with only her voice, but is seen occasionally on the side of Jimmy's clubhouse. Rarely does she speak to Jimmy outside of the lab or in later seasons.
Her name (VOX 2000) and appearance are heavily inspired by HAL 9000 from Arthur C. Clarke's Space Odyssey series. VOX controls a lot of Jimmy's inventions in the lab like his cleansing tube from the movie, as well as the slide that leads to the lab. Her "personality" is mainly heard in the Jimmy Neutron movie and in video games based on the series. In Jimmy Neutron vs. Jimmy Negatron, Negatron uses bugs to corrupt VOX; Libby becomes trapped inside VOX's system and Jimmy is forced to kill the bugs in the system to save both Libby and VOX. In Attack of the Twonkies, VOX leads Jimmy through the tutorial and sometimes throughout other levels, and gives Jimmy various awards.
